Bearing duty in Roller Conveyors
Conveyor bearings here have to survive contamination, shock load and long running hours. Most of their life depends on the seal arrangement, load rating and housing fit you choose.
Roller conveyors in warehouses, distribution centers and production lines use large numbers of small deep groove ball bearings in the rollers, plus pillow block units on the drive and transfer shafts. Loads are usually light to medium, but the volume of rollers, the running speed and the need for low noise make consistent quality and easy replacement important. Buyers care about matching sizes, low friction and keeping stock on hand for routine roller changes.
- Choose sealed or shielded deep groove ball bearings for rollers so grease stays in and floor dust stays out.
- Confirm the bore, outer diameter and width against the existing roller tube and shaft so replacements fit without rework.
- Use pillow block units with the right locking method on drive shafts that start and stop often.
- On accumulation and high-speed sortation sections, pick bearings with low-noise, low-friction specs.
