Operating Conditions
Bearing duty in Mining, Cement & Aggregates
Conveyor bearings here have to survive contamination, shock load and long running hours. Most of their life depends on the seal arrangement, load rating and housing fit you choose.
Mines, quarries, aggregate producers and cement plants run long conveyor systems, crushers, screens and elevators in some of the dustiest and most heavily loaded conditions in industry. Abrasive fines, shock loads and continuous operation shorten bearing life, and unplanned stops are expensive. Maintenance teams and reliability engineers focus on sealing, load rating and having every bearing ready before the annual shutdown.
- Use multi-lip or labyrinth-sealed units on conveyors that carry ore, crushed stone, clinker or cement dust.
- Choose spherical roller bearings for heavily loaded pulleys, crushers and vibrating screens that see shock loads and misalignment.
- Use C3 or C4 clearance where kiln-area heat or vibration raises bearing operating temperature.
- Plan the full shutdown list, covering both conveyor and general plant bearings, as a single order so the outage stays on schedule.
